OUR SCHOOL

St Clare’s has been established to serve children and their families in the Truganina area as a faith-filled, Christ-centred, welcoming and caring educational community. The St Clare’s community is committed to recognising and affirming the gifts and talents of others, celebrating diversity and embracing difference. St Clare’s Catholic Primary School is situated within the Allura Estate, Truganina South. We are approximately 19km west of the city of Melbourne. Construction of the school commenced in early March 2014 and was completed by end of 2014, ready for opening at the start of the school year in 2015. The next stage of our school was completed by the end of 2016 in time for the 2017 school year. In 2018 our Australian Rules football oval and our soccer / rugby pitch were completed.  In 2020, we completed the Stage 3 building of our school. The new facility comprise learning areas for 6 homegroups on the first floor.  At ground level there is a multi purpose resource centre that includes a library area and a specialist learning area for visual arts. This year 2021, we have approximately 410 students.

MACS GOVERNANCE STATEMENT

St Clare's Catholic Primary School is a school which operates with the consent of the Catholic Archbishop of Melbourne and is operated and governed by Melbourne Archdiocese Catholic Schools Ltd (MACS).

MACS governs and operates 292 Catholic schools in the Archdiocese to continue the mission of Catholic education to proclaim the Good News and equip our young people with the knowledge, skills and hope to live meaningful lives and enrich the world around them.

Because the good work of educating the young is a co-responsible task led by every member of the Catholic school community, School Advisory Councils have been established to provide a crucial point of connection between the wider school community and school leaders.

This governance model was designed to ease the administrative burden on our schools and parishes, allow parish priests to focus on the mission of education in the parish, enable greater collaboration between schools and ensure greater consistency in school policies and procedures.
