Term 2, 2021 - Return to School

Dear Families and Friends,

Congratulations to the students and families for your great efforts in accessing remote learning both through live sessions and via other learning activities. It has been wonderful to see the students in the Zoom sessions when I have dropped in to say hello. It is reassuring to see that the vast majority of students from all levels have been able to access the live learning sessions. Many thanks to our St Clare’s staff who have planned, organised, presented and followed up on the remote learning sessions and activities. We look forward to resuming onsite learning on Friday 11 June, 2021.

Parents are permitted to drop off and pick up their children at their learning spaces. If you are entering the school grounds you must check in on the QR Code. You must also wear a mask as social distancing is very difficult at these busy times.

Kind Regards,

Andrew Leighton - Principal

Many thanks to all who attended our celebration of the Sacrament of Confirmation on 27 May, 2021. We were lucky to be able to celebrate the sacrament with our young people before lockdown.

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide and inspire our young people on their journey of faith.

Congratulations to all who received the Sacrament and to those who supported their peers by receiving a blessing. Many thanks to the families who have supported our candidates as they prepared for the Sacrament and the sponsors and other family members who were able to attend our celebration.

2021 Morning Tea with Father Jude

Carousel imageCarousel imageCarousel imageCarousel imageCarousel image

On Wednesday 12 May 2021, we had our first community forum for the year and the first since the onset of Covid19. Fr Jude was our special guest speaker. He shared many of the initiatives occurring in our Parish of St James and the opportunities for parishioners to be involved and also highlighted the close partnership between our school and the wider parish.

Thank you to Fr Jude and the parents for their presence. Thank you also to Chris for planning and coordinating the morning tea.

It was wonderful to have so many mums, grandmothers and other special ladies in our students’ lives join us for our Mother’s Day afternoon tea on Friday 7 May 2021. It was great to see so many of our guests chatting and getting to know each other better.

Thank you to Chris, our Community Partnerships Leader, for organising the afternoon tea.

We hope that all in attendance enjoyed the afternoon tea and the chocolate bar provided by the school in recognition of all the great things our special ladies do for the students and our school.

Our choir singing two very moving songs for mothers was a special highlight.

Thank you to Lauren, Gerry and the School Choir for their presentation.

Congratulations to our students who received the Sacrament of Penance (Reconciliation) on Wednesday 24 March 2021, for the first time. The liturgies were very prayerful and it was great to have the students and their families supporting them along with many of our school staff. It was great to see all of our non-Catholic families in attendance, embracing our school’s Catholic ethos, as their children received a blessing from one of the priests.

Thank you to Fr Jude, Fr Silvio and Fr Mario for giving their time to celebrate the Sacrament with us. Also thank you to Beth, our Religious Education Leader, for the organisation and preparation of the Sacrament of Penance.

Thank you as well to the Middle 4 staff: Sam, Tarquin, Bernie and Meaghan for their work preparing the students and to all our staff who supported the children.

On Monday 22 March 2021, We had a successful day at the Truganina District Summer Sports on Monday bringing home a number of premiership flags. More importantly, I was particularly proud of the way our students competed and behaved, I heard of a number of situations in which the Senior students showed what it means to be a member of a Catholic school. They are a credit to their families and school. Thank you to Kate, our sports coordinator, Senior staff and parents who made the day possible.
